KIPP BUCKNER
Kipp joined the Louisville Thoroughbred Chorus at the age of 14 along
with his dad Ken and brother Todd. Ken sang with the
top 10 finalist Citations quartet and more recently with the
2003 Seniors Quartet Champs The Barons.
Todd sang in a quartet called Tabasco Cats in the 1990's.
The Buckner family has a rich barbershop heritage indeed.
Kipp is one of the elite members of the barbershop society who have won the
coveted gold medal two times. Once in 1987 with the Interstate Rivals quartet,
and the second with the GHG in 1993.
He moved to Cincinnati in 1988 where he joined the Southern Gateway Chorus
and played an active roll on their music team. He also is a proud member of
the Ambassadors Of Harmony.
Kipp now sings with a new quartet called Old School.
Old School became second place silver medalists in 2009
(right behind GHG's bass Jim in Crossroads)and are gearing up to
try and win the gold in 2010! If that happens, Kipp will be
one of 4 men in the entire society to have more than 2 gold medals
in a quartet.
Kipp works for the
Kentucky Board of Nursing and also
dabbles in web design and development. (like THIS site!)
Kipp lives in Southern Indiana (7 miles from downtown Louisville) with
his wife Kimberley and his children Kila, Keegan and new baby Kennedy
born March 10, 2010! They also have two dogs...Louelle and Moufette.
