The phone rang one day and it was Kipp Buckner. He told me that the GHG wanted to fulfill all of their show obligations despite the untimely passing of Rob Henry. He wanted to know if I would be interested in filling in on baritone on some of the shows. I very calmly accepted the invitation, asking to have music sent ASAP so I could be as prepared as possible. The conversation ended and I hung up the phone. I quickly called to my wife and exclaimed "You're never going to believe this. I'm going to sing with the Gas House Gang!" She squealed almost as loudly as I did. What a thrill and honor to be asked to sing, albeit temporarily, with one of the greatest quartets of all time. I will forever remember the experience as well as the confidence they had in my ability to fill such tremendous shoes.
